Starting an Auction during a Livestream

Whatnot allows you to run auctions of items during any of your livestreams. Auctions allow buyers to bid on items while you present them on your livestream.

Starting an Auction on Mobile

1. Open your livestream in a web browser or via the mobile app. 
2. Tap the Store icon at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.
3. Tap on an item under the Auction tab.
4. Tap Start.
   
   
5. For auction items, set the Starting Bid amount.
6. Set the Time (duration) of the auction for that item. 
7. Toggle on Sudden Death if you want to sell the item to whoever bids last. This will prevent extending auction time to allow for bidding wars between buyers. 
8. Tap Start Auction.
   
   

Starting an Auction on Desktop or Web

1. Open your livestream in your web browser or the desktop app. 
2. Under Auction in the left panel, click the Product Actions button under the item you want to auction.
   
   
3. Select Start auction. 
   
   
4. For auction items, set the Starting Bid amount.
5. Set the Time (duration) of the auction for that item. 
6. Toggle on Sudden Death if you want to sell the item to whoever bids last. This will prevent extending auction time to allow for bidding wars between buyers. 
7. Click Start Auction.
